Homemade Ice Cream - this is it!

Ok - I actually found this in my other grandma's recipes.....

4 eggs
2 cups sugar
3/4 pint cream
2 Tbsp vanilla
1 1/2 quarts milk

Beat two eggs at a time
Add sugar, cream and vanilla
Stir in milk, but leave about 3 inches from the top of the ice cream maker
Mix well and freeze.

And remember - it is not recommended to eat raw eggs.  Of course, we all did it as kids and survived, but still....

  1. Yes, this is as I remember, although she often used half-and-half for some, if not all, of the milk.

    Get your raw eggs locally direct from a farm you know and trust, and you will be ok.
